During our Street Fair and Grand Opening, this Saturday, the day before Mother's Day,  Dads can:

• Make Mother's Day cards for free with their kids from 10 AM to 4 PM.
• Buy a gift for Mum - some suggestions:
  • Membership in one of the three not-for-profits that occupy the building.
  • Lessons in pottery, painting, weaving or stained-glass.
  • Hand-crafted jewellery or pottery or a painting.

Where can you find this help? At the Elliot Lake Arts and Heritage Centre, 14 Elizabeth Walk. We promise we won't spoil the surprise!

We were at the Family Health Team's Seniors Expo yesterday, May 1, 2025.  Thanks for everyone who came by to talk about volunteering for the ARIEL Arts Space.  We will be at the Community Group Showcase that the City is sponsoring tomorrow at Collins Hall.  Drop by between 11 AM and 3 PM.

We learned yesterday that you need to know more about what volunteering with us entails. So many of you are already volunteering in the community that you are overwhelmed at the thought of adding anything more to your to-do list.

One three-hour shift per month
The gallery is open 30 hours a week - Tuesday through Saturday.  From time to time we add hours for special occasions.  That means we need 10 volunteers per week or - on average - 40 people a month.  If someone does more than one shift per month, of course, the number of people we need is reduced.

So our minimum requirement for volunteers is one shift of three hours in length per month.  As many who stopped by our table yesterday exclaimed, "That is easy."  We couldn't agree more.
